Privacy notice

What we collect

We do not ask for your photo, date of birth, religion, marital status, national ID or nationality, and we ask employers not to request them.

• Account details: your email address, name, language and the date you accepted our terms.
• Candidate profile (only if you add it): headline, phone, city, skills, languages, links, education (institution, degree, field of study and graduation year), and the CVs you upload.
• Applications: the job, your answers to the employer's questions, your cover letter, a copy of your profile and CV as sent, and the status history.
• Employer details: organisation name, website, location, description, logo, and private verification details (email domain check, registration number, phone).
• Activity needed to run the service: saved jobs and searches, notifications, job reports, anonymous page-view counts per job, and a keyed hash of your IP address for rate limiting (never the address itself).

Why we use it

• To run your account and sign you in (necessary to provide the service you asked for).
• To send your application to the employer you chose (your request).
• To verify employers, review jobs and investigate reports so the board stays safe (our legitimate interest in preventing fraud).
• To send job-alert emails, only if you turn them on (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings).
• To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

Who sees your information

• Employers see your profile, CV, answers and cover letter only for jobs you apply to. Each employer then becomes responsible for that copy (an independent controller) and may use it only to consider you for that job.
• Our moderators see employer details, jobs and reports to keep the board safe. They do not see your CVs or applications.
• Our service providers process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and file storage, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany) and Vercel (website hosting). An email provider will be added when email delivery is switched on.
• Anonymous visitors see only public job pages and employer pages — never candidates' or recruiters' contact details.

International transfers

Our database is in the European Union (Frankfurt). Pages are delivered through a global network. By using Global Jobs from Lebanon or elsewhere, your information is transferred to these locations under contractual safeguards with our providers.

How long we keep it

• Applications and the CV copies sent with them: 12 months after the job closes, then deleted.
• Your profile and CV library: while you use your account. After 23 months without a sign-in or a signed-in visit, we send you a reminder. If 30 days after that reminder you still haven't signed in (and it has been at least 24 months), we delete your account and your files. If deleting it would leave an employer organisation without an owner, or our moderators have suspended it, our team reviews it instead of deleting it automatically.
• Moderation decisions, reports and the audit log: 3 years (fraud prevention and accountability).
• Notifications: 6 months. Rate-limit records: 2 days.
• When you delete your account we delete your profile, CVs, applications, saved items and notifications straight away.

Your rights and controls

• Download your data at any time (Settings → Download my data).
• Correct your profile (Profile), withdraw an application, or delete CVs.
• Delete your account and data (Settings → Delete account).
• Turn job-alert emails on or off (Settings). Every change is recorded.
• Ask the Global Jobs team any question or make a complaint at the contact address to be published before launch. Lebanese law (Law 81/2018) has no separate data-protection authority; you keep your right to take a complaint to the competent courts.

No automated decisions

Global Jobs does not rank, score, filter or reject candidates automatically. Employers see applicants in date order and a person decides every status. If we ever introduce automated matching, we will tell you first and keep a human in every decision.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every table is protected by row-level access rules, CV files are private and shared only through short-lived links, and every CV download by an employer is recorded. If a breach affects you, we will tell you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
